If you use injectable medications and need a sharps disposal container, the Student Health Center can help.
Free containers are available to students, staff, and faculty—just call us at 970-351-1919.
Why Safe Sharps Disposal Matters
Used needles and other sharps can be dangerous if not handled properly. They can cause injury and spread serious infections such as:
- Hepatitis B
- Hepatitis C
- HIV
That’s why safe disposal is important—whether you’re at home, on campus, traveling, or out in the community.
Help Keep Others Safe! Please Remember:
Improper disposal puts sanitation workers, janitors, housekeepers, and even your own family and pets at risk.
Never throw loose needles or sharps in the trash or recycling
Never flush sharps down the toilet.
How It Works at ÍøÆسԹÏ
When your container is full, bring it back to the Student Health Center for safe disposal. You can pick up a new container for free at the same time.
