Clinical Education
Year 3 – Clinical Rotations
Clinical Rotations Orientation Weekbeginsthe clinical trainingphasefor سԹCOMmedical students. After orientation, students begin four-week rotations across a range of clinical settings, includingthe following “core” clinical rotations:
- Family Medicine I and II
- Inpatient Medicine
- Medical Specialty
- General Surgery
- Surgical Specialty
- Psychiatry
- Pediatrics
- OB/GYN
Each student will also have one four weeklong “selective rotation” which is an elective rotation within the established سԹ COM clinical network. An elective is also scheduled which is typically outside the سԹ COM clinical network.
These rotations give students the chance to care for patients, work alongside experienced healthcare teams, and apply their classroom learning in real-world settings. Each rotation helps students build the skills and confidence they need tobe competitive applicants for residenciesand futurecompetent, compassionate physicians
Year 4 - Clinical Rotations
Year 4 gives studentsadvancedexperienceinpreparationfor residency andtheircareersas physicians.Fourth year clinicalrotationsinclude:
- Emergency Medicine or Critical Care
- Selective
- Electives(which include residency sub-internships or“audition”rotations.
- Near the conclusion of the 4thyear, سԹ COM students return to campus toparticipate in a one weekReady for Residency Course, putting thefinishing toucheson preparationfor the first year of their residency.
