The United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship (USASBE) named ÍøÆسԹÏ’s Monfort College of Business Dean, Sher Gibbs, Ph.D., a Justin G. Longenecker Fellow. Gibbs is one of four recipients this year nationwide.

Since graduating from ÍøÆسԹÏ, Neyla Pekarek '09, has lived on a stage. For eight years she traveled across the world performing in front of massive crowds as a member of the highly successful folk-rock band, The Lumineers. Now she's entering a new stage in her career debuting the world premiere of her new musical Rattlesnake Kate at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts.

On Dec. 21, Gov. Jared Polis announced the appointment of ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï alumna Annette Martinez to ÍøÆسԹÏ’s Board of Trustees. Her four-year term is pending confirmation by the Colorado General Assembly.

The past year has been a cautious reemergence into a world still churning from the effects of a pandemic. Despite the uncertainty and changes of living with COVID-19, our university community continued to rise to the challenge in 2021, including successfully navigating a full return to in-person learning and events this past fall.

The ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï will hold its fall commencement ceremonies on Friday, Dec. 10, and Saturday, Dec. 11. Approximately 903 students will graduate this fall with around 554 earning a bachelor's degree and around 349 earning a master's, specialist or doctoral degree.

David Hulac, Ph.D., a professor of School Psychology in the College of Educational and Behavioral Sciences at the ÍøÆسԹÏ, has been chosen as the 2022 Winchester Distinguished Scholar by ÍøÆسԹÏ's Faculty Research and Publications Board.

The ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï Board of Trustees met on Thursday, Nov. 11 and Friday, Nov. 12, to discuss a variety of topics, including governance group reports, a president's report, an update on the university's Students First Framework and action items related to the pursuit of creating an osteopathic medical school.

The ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï is proud to join the fifth annual First-Generation College Celebration on Nov. 8. The event, launched in 2017 by the Council for Opportunity in Education (COE) and the Center for First-generation Student Success, is designed to celebrate the outstanding accomplishments of first-generation students, faculty, staff and alumni.

Dan Satriana, vice president, general counsel and secretary to ÍøÆسԹÏ’s Board of Trustees, announced today that he will be retiring this winter. Satriana has been at ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï for 11 years, serving as the university’s attorney and primary source of legal advice.
