After a national search launched earlier this year, the ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï Foundation has selected Tony Troxell as its next president. Troxell, who officially stepped into his role on Sept. 16, will be responsible for the overall management of Foundation activities including gift acceptance, distribution of gifts to the university, and investment management.

“I am thrilled to join our outstanding Foundation and Advancement staff to continue to build ongoing support for ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï and its commitment to empowering student success,” Troxell said. “As a first-generation college graduate living in Colorado, I was particularly inspired by the possibilities articulated in the university’s strategic plan, Rowing, Not Drifting 2030 and the obvious energy, excitement and dedication of everyone I met. I look forward to working with the advancement team, Foundation Board, staff, faculty, alumni and friends to help realize the opportunities that lie ahead for the university, our community and for current and future ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï Bears.”
Troxell has extensive experience in the leadership and financial management of non-profit organizations. During his 15 years as director of finance for Children’s Hospital Colorado Health System Foundation he developed, implemented and directed financial and management systems that contributed to the completion of successful fundraising campaigns and significant growth of the endowment investment portfolio. Most recently he served as chief financial officer for the National Service Office for Nurse-Family Partnership and Child First where he helped secure and utilize transformative philanthropic investments to further scale the organization’s programs across the country.
”The Foundation is an important partner to ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï in our efforts to raise and use philanthropic gifts to support the students, faculty and staff of the university and to advance our many programs,” said Allie Steg Haskett, vice president for University Advancement. “I am excited that Tony has joined the Advancement team and look forward to working with him in support of the shared goals of ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï and the ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï Foundation.”
Troxell earned his bachelor’s degree in Business-Accounting from Indiana University and began his career as a Certified Public Accountant. He replaces former Foundation president and ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï alumnus Rod Esch ‘81, who was in the position for eight years before announcing his planned retirement last December.
