ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï Hires Ombudsperson to Provide Faculty and Staff a New Resource on Campus
The ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï is restoring a former staff position intended to further foster an environment where faculty and staff feel supported personally and professionally to develop an enriching experience for ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï students. This position – an ombudsperson – has not existed at the university for the last two decades-plus, until now, with the recent addition of Johnny Armijo to serve in this role.

ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï Selects New General Counsel
The ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï (ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï) is pleased to announce the hiring of Jacquie Rich Fredericks, Ed.D., J.D., as the university’s next vice president, general counsel and secretary to the Board of Trustees. Fredericks, who has worked for the Colorado Department of Law (DOL) for the past 11 years, will begin at ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï on Aug. 15.

ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï Collaborating with Community Partners on Inaugural Juneteenth Celebration
The ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï’s Marcus Garvey Cultural Center (MGCC), in collaboration with the City of Greeley and powered by PDC Energy, is hosting the first-ever community-wide Juneteenth celebration. The event, scheduled for Friday, June 17, noon to 4 p.m., at the MGCC (928 20th Street, Greeley), is free and open to the public.

The Greeley Stampede, which started in 1922, has always brought color and energy to the local community, so it’s fitting that as it celebrates 100 years, it does so with even more color greeting spectators. And two ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï alumni were chosen to paint the new murals.
